Credit Cards

Credit cards are generally accepted in Alaska although some small, isolated stores may not accept them. The major credit cards used are Mastercard and Visa. In addition American Express and Discovery can also be used.

ATM's

ATM's can be found in banks, gas stations, airports and supermarkets. Both debit cards and credit cards can be used in them.

Bureau de Change

Money can be exchanged at Wells Fargo, which is Alaska's sixth largest bank. There are more than 400 branches in Alaska and the bank offers changing currency and also 24 hour ATM's. Opening hours can vary but in general open between 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday.

Traveller's Cheques

Travellers's cheques are widely accepted in the state and can be cashed at stores, banks or motels throughout the main tourist areas of Alaska.
